So the V0ltr0n twitter page has been doing countdowns w/ gifs of the paladins (5 paladins for day 5, 4 for day 4, you get the gist) and on Day 2, they show Sh!ro and Ke!th and the antis/kl@nce nuts went crazy! "Brothers confirmed","would have been better with L@nce", "where's L@nce?","see She!th won't be canon now 'cause that would be sick", along with further harassment toward the crew. I feel so bad for them man. :(

yknow coming in to the fandom pretty early (like, the tags were full of episode gifs rather than fandom content) i smh sensed that there was going to be a lot of ship wars with the way the characters are aligned (and how my favs are sidelined as always) so i rarely engage with the fandom when it was booming.... until season 2 came out and hoooly shit i came back to a debris of war and i honestly wanted to know what happened because i just finished s2. i'm so glad my friend directed me here.

It was already bad before Season 2 aired (there was a video “confirming” the ages of the paladins and K/ance shippers started accusing Sh/eith shippers of “supporting pedophilia”, comparing S/K to child p/rn, submitting actual porn & gore, they even tried to discourage a charity from accepting money Sh//eith shippers were donating… Need I go on? Because I can. It’s wild)

The K/L and S/K war escalated, people were (and still are) spewing hate in the tags, sending each other death threats, the K/ance side even went as far as to accuse one of the VA’s (*ahem* Josh Keaton) of being a pedophile, then proceeded to send him hate and dragged his kids into the argument (here’s the thing: x)

And the whole K/eith development arc (+ S/K moments) kinda made K/ance shippers throw a fit bc they spent 7 months overanalysing every K/L interaction in Season 1.

And that was when the fandom went from awful to atrocious.

I could write a 5 page essay about every ridiculous thing the people in this fandom have done, 4 ½ of them would probably focus on violent “anti Sha//adins” as the activists like to call themselves. (There’s 2 sides to every war. But frankly, even if I tried to resurrect my enthusiasm for K/ance, I still wouldn’t be able to name one good thing about its fandom.)

That’s… the short version of what went down. At this point the fandom is just one giant pile of shippers and anti-shippers, and a small amount of people watching and crying.

i used to go through my block list every couple of months and unblock people but now i can't do that bc i've blocked like half a dozen people for suspected child porn. not drawings, photos/gifs. a couple i reported to the cybertipline (that's the place to report if you ever stumble across child porn on the internet) but most were too subtle and just felt wrong without not enough evidence. anyway my point is there's a fucking infestation of child predators on tumblr and shippers are not it

Man there’s all sorts of fucked up shit on here. I’ve actually had the displeasure of coming across, not one, but TWO, blogs that claimed to be sex traffickers.

And yet, do you see the antis doing ANYTHING to stop them or any real threats? No.

In fact, they’ve actually actively fought against people trying to expose actual child pornography distributors, on the grounds that they wouldn’t accept slander of popular artists as submissions. (x)
